Abstract

Palopo Municipality recorded a year-on-year (y-o-y) inflation rate of 1.38 percent in June 2025, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 107.78. This inflation was driven by a general increase in prices, reflected in the rising aggregate price index across several expenditure groups.
On a y-o-y basis, in June 2025, the following expenditure groups experienced inflation: Food, Beverages, and Tobacco by 1.85 percent; Clothing and Footwear by 1.10 percent; Housing, Water, Electricity, and Household Fuels by 0.89 percent; Household Equipment, Tools, and Routine Maintenance by 0.56 percent; Health by 0.63 percent; Transportation by 0.55 percent; Recreation, Sports, and Culture by 0.04 percent; Education by 2.04 percent; Food and Beverage Provision/Restaurants by 0.16 percent; and Personal Care and Other Services by 6.32 percent. Conversely, the Information, Communication, and Financial Services group experienced a deflation of 0.03 percent.
For June 2025, the month-to-month (m-t-m) inflation rate was -0.02 percent, indicating deflation. The calendar year inflation (year-to-date/y-t-d) stood at 1.53 percent.
