The Development of the Consumer Price Index / Inflation in Palopo Municipality, February 2025

In February 2025, the city of Palopo experienced a year-on-year (yoy) deflation of 0.90 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 104.19.

Inflation occurred due to price increases, as indicated by the accumulated rise in price indices across several expenditure groups. On a year-on-year basis, in February 2025, several expenditure groups experienced inflation: Food, beverages, and tobacco at 1.23 percent; clothing and footwear at 0.63 percent; household equipment, tools, and routine maintenance at 0.39 percent; health at 0.30 percent; transportation at 0.98 percent; recreation, sports, and culture at 0.24 percent; education at 2.04 percent; food and beverage provision/restaurants at 1.56 percent; and personal care and other services at 5.59 percent. Conversely, the information, communication, and financial services group experienced deflation of 0.82 percent; the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group also experienced deflation of 12.60 percent.

The month-on-month (mtm) inflation rate for February 2025 recorded deflation of 0.48 percent, and the calendar year/year-to-date (ytd) inflation rate recorded deflation of 1.86 percent.
