The Development of the Consumer Price Index / Inflation in Palopo Municipality, March 2025

In March 2025, the city of Palopo experienced a year-on-year (yoy) inflation rate of 0.64 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.77.

This inflation was attributed to price increases reflected in the rise of the accumulated price index across several expenditure groups. On a year-on-year basis in March 2025, the following expenditure groups experienced inflation: Food, beverages, and tobacco at 1.27 percent; clothing and footwear at 1.03 percent; furnishings, household equipment, and routine household maintenance at 0.59 percent; health at 0.44 percent; transportation at 1.25 percent; recreation, sports, and culture at 0.46 percent; education at 2.04 percent; the provision of food and beverages/restaurants at 1.20 percent; and personal care and other services at 6.13 percent. Conversely, the information, communication, and financial services group experienced a deflation of 0.81 percent; the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group also experienced a deflation of 3.42 percent.

The month-on-month (mtm) inflation rate for March 2025 was 2.48 percent, and the calendar year/year-to-date (ytd) inflation rate was 0.57 percent.
