Abstract

In April 2025, the city of Palopo experienced a year-on-year (yoy) inflation rate of 0.97 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 107.91.
This inflation was driven by price increases reflected in the rising accumulated price indices of several expenditure groups. On a year-on-year basis in April 2025, the following expenditure groups experienced inflation: Food, beverages, and tobacco at 0.86 percent; clothing and footwear at 1.14 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuels at 0.93 percent; furnishings, household equipment, and routine household maintenance at 0.54 percent; health at 0.49 percent; transportation at 0.22 percent; recreation, sports, and culture at 0.04 percent; education at 2.04 percent; food and beverage provision/restaurants at 0.15 percent; and personal care and other services at 6.94 percent. In contrast, the information, communication, and financial services group experienced a deflation of 1.14 percent.
The month-on-month (mtm) inflation rate for April 2025 was 1.07 percent, and the calendar year-to-date (ytd) inflation rate was 1.65 percent.
