Abstract

In September 2024, Palopo City experienced a year-on-year (yoy) inflation of 2.14% with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.67.

Inflation occurred due to a price increase indicated by the rising accumulated price index in several expenditure groups. On a yoy basis, in September 2024, several expenditure groups experienced inflation: Food, beverages, and tobacco group by 4.51%; clothing and footwear group by 0.26%; furnishings, equipment, and routine household maintenance group by 0.54%; health group by 0.34%; transportation group by 1.47%; recreation, sports, and culture group by 0.42%; education group by 1.05%; food and beverage services/restaurants group by 1.92%; and personal care and other services group by 3.54%. Meanwhile, the housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels group experienced deflation of 0.06%; and the information, communication, and financial services group also experienced deflation of 0.96%.

The month-to-month (mtm) inflation rate in September 2024 was recorded as a deflation of 0.10%, and the year-to-date (ytd) inflation rate was 1.40%.
