Abstract

In September 2023 in Palopo City there will be year on year (yoy) inflation of 1.22 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 114.85.

Inflation occurs due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the accumulated price index for several expenditure groups. On a yoy basis, in September 2023 all expenditure groups experienced inflation: the food, beverage and tobacco group at 1.51 percent; clothing and footwear group at 1.18 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.33 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 0.78 percent; health group at 0.41 percent; transportation group by 1.98 percent; information, communication and financial services group at 0.15 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 1.52 percent; education group of 0.10 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 0.93 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 2.38 percent.

The month to month (mtm) inflation rate for September 2023 was recorded as deflation of 0.15 percent and the calendar year inflation rate/year to date (ytd) inflation was 1.55 percent.
