Abstract

In June 2024, there was a year-on-year (yoy) inflation of 2.47% in Palopo City with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.31.

The inflation occurred due to price increases indicated by the accumulation of price indices in several expenditure groups. Year-on-year, in June 2024, several expenditure groups experienced inflation: Food, beverages, and tobacco group by 5.54%; clothing and footwear group by 0.57%; household equipment, appliances, and routine household maintenance group by 0.48%; health group by 0.04%; transportation group by 1.36%; recreation, sports, and cultural group by 0.97%; food and beverage serving/restaurants group by 2.09%; and personal care and other services group by 3.38%. Meanwhile, the housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels group experienced deflation of 0.21%; information, communication, and financial services group also experienced deflation of 0.89%; and the education group saw no change in the price index (stable).

The month-to-month inflation rate in June 2024 was recorded at deflation of 0.32%, and the year-to-date (ytd) inflation rate was 2.02%.
