Abstract

In June 2023 in Palopo City there was year on year (yoy) inflation of 4.13 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 115.15.

Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the accumulated price index of several expenditure groups. On a yoy basis, in June 2023 all expenditure groups experienced inflation: The food, beverage and tobacco group by 5.34 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 1.71 percent; the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 1.30 percent; equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group by 0.66 percent; the health group by 0.43 percent; transportation group of 13.24 percent; the information, communication and financial services group by 0.02 percent; the recreation, sports and culture group by 1.43 percent; the education group by 3.32 percent; the group providing food and drink/restaurants by 1.21 percent; as well as the personal care and other services group of 1.92 percent.

The June 2023 month-to-month (mtm) inflation rate was recorded as deflation of 0.23 percent and the year-to-date (ytd) inflation rate of 1.81 percent.
