Abstract

In January 2023 in Palopo City there was year on year (yoy) inflation of 5.27 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 113.66.
Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the accumulated price index for all expenditure groups, namely: the Food, Beverage and Tobacco Group by 7.59 percent; Clothing and Footwear Group by 1.02 percent; Housing, Water, Electricity and Household Fuel Group by 2.08 percent; Equipment, Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance Group by 2.43 percent; Health Group by 0.71 percent; Transportation Group by 14.26 percent; Recreation, Sports and Culture Group by 0.89 percent; Education Group by 3.36 percent; Food and Beverage/Restaurant Provision Group by 2.42 percent; and the Personal Care and Other Services Group of 1.64 percent.
The January 2023 month-to-month (mtm) inflation rate recorded inflation of 0.50 percent and the year-to-date (ytd) inflation rate of 0.50 percent.
