Abstract

In March 2022 in Palopo City there was an inflation of 1.16 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 109.69
Inflation occurs due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the accumulation of the price index for all expenditure groups. Of the eleven Expenditure Groups, nine of them experienced inflation, namely: Food, Beverages and Tobacco by 2.7 percent; Clothing and Footwear group by 0.18 percent; Housing, Water, Electricity, and Household Fuel Group by 0.08 percent; Group of Equipment, Equipment, and Routine Household Maintenance by 1.03 percent; Health group by 0.20 percent; Transportation group by 0.60 percent; Recreation, Sports, and Culture Group by 0.43 percent; Food and Beverage/Restaurant Provision Group by 0.29 percent; and the Personal Care and Other Services Group by 0.01 percent. One group experienced deflation, while the other group did not experience significant price changes.
The inflation rate for the calendar year is 1.96 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate is 4.17 percent.
