Abstract

In November 2024, Palopo City experienced a year-on-year (yoy) inflation rate of 2.08 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.83.

The inflation occurred due to price increases, as indicated by the rise in the cumulative price indices of several expenditure groups. On a yoy basis, in November 2024, several expenditure groups experienced inflation: the food, beverages, and tobacco group by 4.23 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 0.52 percent; the household equipment, tools, and routine maintenance group by 0.51 percent; the health group by 0.29 percent; the transportation group by 1.30 percent; the recreation, sports, and culture group by 0.42 percent; the education group by 1.05 percent; the food and beverage service/restaurants group by 1.90 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 4.16 percent. Meanwhile, the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group experienced deflation of 0.05 percent, and the information, communication, and financial services group also experienced deflation of 0.76 percent.

The month-to-month (mtm) inflation rate for November 2024 was recorded at 0.22 percent, while the calendar year-to-date (ytd) inflation rate was 1.55 percent.
