Abstract

In June 2021, there was a deflation of 0.05 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.30. From the eleven expenditure groups, three groups experienced deflation, two groups experienced inflation, while the other six groups did not experience significant price changes. The deepest deflation was experienced by the transportation group of 0.14 percent with a CPI of 105.46.
Deflation occurred due to a decline in prices as indicated by the decline in most indexes of the expenditure group.
The inflation rate for the calendar year June 2021 is 1.73 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (June 2021 against June 2020) is 1.97 percent.
