Abstract

In August 2022 in Palopo City there was an inflation of 0.26 percent with Consumer Prices Index (CPI) of 111.53.

Inflation occurs due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the accumulation of the price index for all expenditure groups. Of the eleven Expenditure Groups, five of them experienced inflation, namely: Food, Beverages and Tobacco by 0.46 percent; Clothing and Footwear group by 0.47 percent; Housing, Water, Electricity, and Household Fuel Group by 0.35 percent; Group of Equipment, Equipment, and Routine Household Maintenance by 0.02 percent; the Food and Beverage/Restaurant Provision Group by 0.03 percent. two group experienced deflation, namely the Transportation Group by 0.11 percent; the Personal Care and Other Services Group by 0.25 percent, while the other two groups, namely the information, communication and financial services group and the food and beverage/restaurant supply group, did not experience significant price changes.

The inflation rate for the calendar year is 3.40 percent and the inflation rate for the year to year is 4.04 percent.
