Abstract

In January 2021, there was an inflation of 0.26 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) 104.76. From the eleven expenditure groups, six experienced inflation, and five other groups did not experience significant price changes. The transportation group experienced the highest inflation at 0.53 percent with the CPI of 102.44.

Inflation occurs due to price increases as indicated by the increasing index of the six expenditure groups.

The inflation rate for the calendar year of January 2021 is 0.26 percent and the year-on-year (y-o-y) inflation rate (January 2021 against January 2020) is 1.34 percent.
