Abstract

In July 2023 in Palopo City there was year on year (yoy) inflation of 3.64 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 115.29.

Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the accumulated price index of several expenditure groups. On a yoy basis, in July 2023 all expenditure groups experienced inflation: The food, beverage and tobacco group by 5.07 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 1.47 percent; the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 0.62 percent; equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group by 0.49 percent; the health group by 0.41 percent; transportation group by 11.43 percent; the information, communication and financial services group by 0.02 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 1.01 percent; the education group by 0.10 percent; the group providing food and drink/restaurants by 1.22 percent; as well as the personal care and other services group of 1.82 percent.

The month to month (mtm) inflation rate for July 2023 was recorded at 0.12 percent and the calendar year inflation rate/year to date (ytd) inflation was 1.94 percent.
