Abstract

In February 2021, there was an inflation of 0.11 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 104.88. From the eleven expenditure groups, five groups experienced inflation, two groups experienced deflation, and four other groups experienced no significant price changes. The food, beverage and tobacco category experienced the highest inflation at 0.35 percent with the CPI at 107.84.
Inflation occurs due to price increases as indicated by the increase in the price index for the five expenditure groups.
The inflation rate for the calendar year February 2021 is 0.37 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (February 2021 against February 2020) is 1.42 percent.
