Abstract

The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in August 2024 was 7.64 percent.

Based on the National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas), the labor force in August 2024 totaled 97.18 thousand people, an increase of 2.43 percentage points compared to August 2023. The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) in Palopo City was 66.19 percent, rising by 0.44 percentage points from August 2023.

The number of employed persons in August 2024 was 89.76 thousand, an increase of 2.2 thousand people from August 2023. The sectors with the largest increase in employment were agriculture and services, with increases of 1.29 thousand and 2.66 thousand people, respectively. Meanwhile, a decline in employment occurred in the manufacturing sector.
