Abstract

In October 2024, the city of Palopo experienced a year-on-year (YoY) inflation rate of 1.90%, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) at 105.60.

This inflation was attributed to rising prices, indicated by increases in the accumulated price index across several expenditure categories. Year-on-year in October 2024, the following expenditure groups experienced inflation: food, beverages, and tobacco at 3.77%; clothing and footwear at 0.27%; household equipment, routine maintenance, and appliances at 0.52%; health at 0.28%; transportation at 1.18%; recreation, sports, and culture at 0.42%; education at 1.05%; food and beverage service/restaurants at 1.90%; and personal care and other services at 4.24%. Conversely, the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group saw deflation of 0.05%, while the information, communication, and financial services group experienced deflation of 0.76%.

The month-on-month (MoM) inflation rate for October 2024 recorded a deflation of 0.07%, and the year-to-date (YTD) inflation rate was 1.33%.
