Abstract

In May 2021, inflation of 1.00 percent occurred with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.35. From the eleven expenditure groups, eight groups experienced inflation, and the other three groups did not experience significant price changes. The highest inflation was experienced by the food, beverage and tobacco group at 1.73 percent with a CPI of 110.27.
Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in most indexes of the expenditure group.
The May 2021 calendar year inflation rate is 1.78 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (May 2021 to May 2020) is 2.08 percent.
